A lush stand of bamboo thrives on this beautiful Buddhist temple in Tokyo. An unusual green retreat recently completed by the Yutaka Kawahara architectural office, the Ekouin Nenbutsudo Temple expansion comprises a 3 storey annex measuring less than 500 square meters of total floor area overlaid by bamboo trees growing on its first level. Recently Hangar Bicocca in Milan has displayed extraordinary works of Madrid born artist Juan Munoz (1953-2001). Hundreds of anonymous human figures filled the dark and suggestive industrial space of the museum. The 15 most important installations signed by the Spanish sculptor brought evocative etudes on anxiety and loneliness issues, interaction games, physiological tricks and optical illusions, and involving spectators into these works of art. As the Milan Expo continues, we find ourselves delving deeper into each pavilion's design. The big surprise this year is Uruguay's striking entry. Participating for the first time in a Universal Exposition with its own national pavilion, which was designed by Javier Díaz Charquero, an architect for the National Meat Institute, and realized with a support of the two local Italian architectural firms Campana Costruzioni and MSC Associati, the Pavilion features an eye-catching rustic solar shading system made of rough wooden logs. The Japanese Pavilion is one of the most evocative spaces at the Venice Art Biennale 2015. Once you step inside, you dive into a suggestive world tangled by hundreds of meters of red yarn and keys suspended from the ceiling draped over two large wooden boats placed right in the middle of the room. The large scale Japanese installation entitled “The Key in the Hand” is a site-specific work of art conceived expressly for the 56th Venice Biennale by the Osaka-born and Berlin-based contemporary artist Chiharu Shiota in collaboration with the pavilion curator Hitoshi Nakano. The show curated by Germano Celant in collaboration with the famous Italian architect Italo Rota presents numerous installations, classic designs and contemporary art objects that compares food rituals of the past epochs and the present times. In total more than 7000 sq.m fully packed with hundreds of single items collected from all over the world. The exposition embraces 164 years of recent history: from 1851 up to 2015. The chosen historical lap is not casual at all. The show, in fact, aims to illustrate the evolution of food habits starting from the first ever organized Universal Exhibition, that took place in London in 1851. And no doubts, as the show strikes, the attitude has changed!

And precisely for this reason it constantly comes up with great ideas, peculiar auto shows and inventive related events. One of the most particulars car events of Italy is so-called “Mille Miglia” (or “Thousand Miles”). It is a loop race of retro cars that passes through the whole “boot”. It starts and ends in the northern Brescia, and runs clockwise through such famous Italian cities as Verona, Ravenna, Rimini, Rome, Siena, Pisa and Parma. ENG
