Swedish fashion maison COS and Snarkitecture studio from New York have teamed up to prepare a stunning surprise for Brera Design District visitors. Merging fashion, art, and architecture into one single installation, they used over 100,000 meters of translucent strips of white fabric to create a cave-like space. Walking through this tunnel bounded by light and fluctuating bands suspended from the ceiling, one dives into an abstract world of purity and simplicity reflecting the fashion company’s image and philosophy.
“Wrap” collection designed by Hiroomi Tahara for Yamakawa Rattan is a simple and cunning wrapped backrest project. The contrast between the thick cushions and the thin wicker structure and the similarity of patterns and textures of the two bring together a further interesting design detail to this furniture set.
“Linna” is a lounge chair produced in solid wood with either a natural or dyed finish. Its honest design best explains the designer’s philosophy: furniture made of few but essential elements, no veiled secondary components; only natural materials in a combination of state-of-the-art technology and handcrafted Brazilian tradition.
The “Tunnel of light” is both an art installation and a showcase of Foscarini’s lamps. It is a path made of a rhythmic sequence of red circle arches, which appear to be unlimited thanks to the two mirrored walls at either end of the route.
Inspired by the concave lines of sea shells, the curved forms of the wooden “Cowrie chair” are the result of an extensive research and innovation process that bridges the handmade with the digital.
