ENG Keeps on exploring the unique properties and qualities of solid wood (check the previous work MaSegno here)! This time the commissioned object is a recess to store a collection of Atari game cartridges popular in 80-s, designed in a bright maple wood. The theme, therefore, is a modular structure to hang on a wall that can host the predetermined objects. |
The stand has been designed as a set of interlocking components. The support is capable to evolve through time thanks to its flexible joint system. The Wickerwork is a the self-supported and self-bearing solution where no nails, bolts nor glue were used. Here only the force of gravity is exploited to guarantee the stability of the joints and to manage the balance of weights and loads. The piece was designed and hand-made in Italy.
