In one year Milan will host Expo 2015, an event that will change architectural face of the conservative city. Many new constructions are have been in progress since some years. The majority of them are directly or indirectly linked to the upcoming international fair. Among them one of the most iconic works (to be completed these days) is the Expo Gate Pavilion, designed by the Milanese office Scandurra Studio.

Among them one of the most iconic works (to be completed these days) is the Expo Gate Pavilion, designed by the Milanese office Scandurra Studio.
Located in the heart of the city in front of Castello Sforzesco, the futuristic Pavilion is competing with historical architectural landmarks of Milan. The Gate, in fact, appears as a light metallic structure temporarily eclipsing the Milanese background made of anscien walls and past-epoch architectural motifs.
Yet, the new architecture resembles (in a certain sense) the slender construction, the unique shape and bright colors of Duomo, the main symbol of Milan.
