Tod’s by Toyo Ito in Omote-sando (completed in 2011) is a building in reinforced concrete. Yet, here the structural material plays not only the load bearing role. Perhaps above all, it is an aesthetic reflection of the famous zelkova trees: the symbol of the neighborhood.
